NeutralBut people are just people
They all have a need to laugh and cry and yell and eat and love
We are still so primitive…we still wish to bring ourselves higher up, closer to holiness, by lowering those weaker than ourselves
We cry that our beliefs will always be better than our neighbors
Our neighbors shout that, because of some passage or another, we are hypocrites
But those shouts and cries and claims mean nothing
When it all boils down, we will be friends again
We will continue to live as neighbors
And maybe one day, unlikely as it seems
We will at last set aside our beliefs, and trade them for compassion like none other
And finally, we will truly love
